Pediatric Inpatient Care Unit

Northern Nevada Health System provides infants, children, adolescents and teens with comprehensive medical care. We treat many pediatric conditions including respiratory distress, dehydration, allergic reactions, gastrointestinal concerns, infections, chronic illnesses, traumatic injuries and many more.

Advanced Pediatric Care

Patients who need to be hospitalized, but do not require the level of services provided by the intensive care unit, will be treated in our Pediatric Inpatient Care Unit. This unit is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine providers, pediatric hospitalists, pediatric nurses, respiratory therapists and other specialists with many years of experience caring for patients under the age of 20. They are specially trained to address the unique needs of younger patients.

Kid-Friendly and Family-Centered Environment

Care is provided in a friendly and comfortable setting where your child can feel safe and relaxed while they recover from their illness. Our team works closely with parents to determine the best treatment plan for their child and to make sure parents are always up-to-date on their child’s prognosis. We consider parents to be part of our care team as we all work diligently to provide the best care for the patient.

Once the patient leaves the hospital, we will work with the child’s pediatrician to ensure the proper follow-up care procedures and treatment plan are being followed.
